MO(U)RNING WOOD Altitude Adjustment Cabin Rules. Please READ.

Toilet: This cabin operates on a SEPTIC SYSTEM. Only toilet paper (and natural waste)! EVEN flushable wipes are NOT allowed. Please listen to this rule as it is our septic tank's livelihood at stake.

NO SMOKING inside the cabin. Please discard your ashes and butts (if you smoke) outside in a safe area and extinguish everything so you don't burn down Arizona's beautiful rim country.

Goodies: Be sure to check out our Smores Kit on top of the fridge, toiletry basket (in case you forgot something) in the guest bathroom and kids craft and toy baskets (to keep those little monsters busy) in the kitchen area. For those chilly nights by the fire you can find warm blankets and pillows on the top shelf in the laundry room. These are provided for outdoor use.

AC/Heat: Please turn it off before you check out. We also have a wood burning fireplace (detailed instructions can be found in the House Manual upon arrival) that heats the entire cabin.

Food: NO food in the beds. I know, I know..bummer right?! But you'll thank me later when you’re not invaded by ants. Please also wipe off all food and sticky substances on counters ASAP (yes, even crumbs).

Trash: We believe in the power of recycling! As Jack Johnson says: reduce, reuse, recycle. Yes, Yes and YES! Unfortunately, we do not have a pick up service for this. The main trash can is located near the first gate on our side of the property. Please make sure all non-recyclable trash makes it there. You can leave your recycling in a bag in the laundry room upon check out for us to discard OR take it with you.

SHOES: Please remove shoes upon entering the house. We like to keep our floors nice and clean. Plus, it just feels good not having crumbs, dirt and other debris between your toes. Don't forget to bring slippers and warm socks.

Indoor wood burning stove: The fireplace door should remain completely closed when the fire is burning. The cabin will heat up fast. TRUST US. Please do NOT leave the cabin while the fire is still burning. There is a metal can outside the front door to discard your ashes in. Word to the wise-do NOT put anything on top of the stove or touch. It is VERY hot.

Cooking: We have a gas stove. Please make sure you turn the gas off after you cook! Same goes with the oven.

Books, games and maps: Please enjoy and also take care of them.
Propane fire pit: This is provided in lieu of a wood fire pit. We love our forest and want to preserve its beauty as long as possible. Please ONLY use the propane fire pit in its designated area.

Dogs: We love fur babies and allow dogs if notified in advance and for a small fee. Please pick up after them, keep them off the couches and beds and make sure they utilize the dog run for their "duties" and not the porch/balcony. The laundry room has a medium sized dog door if that's their jam.

Washer/dryer and Cleaning supplies: Available to use if you REALLY must do laundry on vacation. There is also a bin labeled “cleaning supplies” on the top shelf of the laundry room for light cleaning if need be.

Refrigerator: The left side of the fridge is designated for our guests to use. Feel free to utilize common everyday condiments if you're missing something.

Pantry: The EMPTY middle two shelves are designated for our guests to use. Feel free to utilize basic pantry items if you forgot something.

Neighbors and noise: One of our biggest rules at the Mo(u)rning Wood is to have fun and make new memories! But in doing so, please keep our neighbor’s sanctity in mind. This is a community that values privacy and nature. Drive slowly thru the neighborhood and keep noise at a minimum after 10 pm.

Check Out: Turn off EVERYTHING.

-Lights inside and out, oven, AC/HEAT, FIREPLACE, WATER..you get the hint.
-Stack used towels and bedding in the showers.
-Wash dishes and put them up.
-Remove all trash and discard non-recyclable items in the outside can.
-Don't forget anything! Look under the beds, in the plugs for chargers, etc.
-Brought a dog? Pick up after him/her/them.
-Brought a kid? Please take him/her/them-we've already raised 3.
-Please return keys to the lockbox.
